About Artificial Intelligence
(c) Robert Neil Boyd

AI is not consciousness. It is a logic machine, nothing more. Theoretically, a disincarnate entity can occupy the machine, and use it for some purposes, but the possible activities which could be accomplished by a disincarnate who had involved themselves in the machinery would be severely limited. Probably, most disincarnates would find these enormous limitations on expressions they might want to perform rather distasteful. But the math shows that the possibility of habitation is more probable than with other systems, even more so if a holographic AI is given any sort of autonomy. I went so far as to determine methods to prevent such interventions by placing certain constraint mechanisms in the AI so that habitation would become difficult.
